Founders

Built inside a contractor, not next to one.

G& was not designed from a specification document. It was engineered by people who own the rigs, sign the logs and answer for the submission — then built to the standard that work demands.

Around 50 years of geotechnical delivery history

First anchor customer & live proving ground

BS 5930 · BS 1377 · ASTM · ISO 14688 / 14689 · Eurocode 7

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Alim is a partner and owner at Horema, a ground investigation and geotechnical contractor with around 50 years of continuous history. Horema’s work spans drilling, in-situ testing, laboratory investigation and factual reporting — the complete chain that G& is designed to control from the first field record to the final AGS 4.1 package.

That history gives G& more than a logo or an advisory board: Horema is the platform’s first anchor customer and proving ground. The product is shaped around the conditions a working contractor must manage every day — rigs mobilised, strata described to BS 5930 and ISO 14688 / 14689, samples scheduled through the laboratory to BS 1377 and ASTM methods, and data issued to consultants with every value traceable to its method, standard version and approval.

He also brings a long-standing network across the geotechnical profession, including relationships with experienced academics and practitioners. He leads G& on domain direction: which standards are treated as data, what the validation engine must refuse, and what a client-acceptable submission package has to prove.

Group Chief Information Officer — Vodafone

Enterprise technology leadership & transformation

Platform architecture · validation · standards as data

Security, access control, integrations & auditability

Ahmed Yehia is Co-Founder of G& and currently serves as Group Chief Information Officer at Vodafone. His experience leading technology at one of the world’s major telecommunications groups brings a perspective that is rare in specialist engineering software: how to make critical information systems resilient, governed, secure and usable across complex organisations.

At G&, he applies that enterprise lens to the parent–child geotechnical schema that binds every reading to a location, depth interval, method and standard version. His direction covers the validation engine, standards-as-data, AGS 4.1 dictionary checks, handwriting OCR intake and immutable audit trail — so an engineer can answer "where did this number come from?" years after issue.

He also leads the platform posture required for tender-grade delivery: role-based access across field, laboratory, QA and management, dependable integrations, regional and sovereign hosting options, and signed approval records on every deliverable. The result is a product built with both geotechnical depth and the governance expected of enterprise technology.

Horema

The proving ground behind the platform

Horema is a ground investigation and geotechnical contractor with decades of continuous delivery, carried through a second generation of ownership. Drilling, in-situ testing, laboratory work and factual reporting sit under one roof.

Field to laboratory in-house

Rig operations, in-situ testing and the geotechnical laboratory run as one delivery chain — the same chain G& models end to end.

Client and consultant review

Factual data issued into formal review by project consultants, where AGS 4.1 conformity and traceability are checked before acceptance.

Standards as contract terms

BS 5930, BS 1377, ASTM methods, ISO 14688 / 14689 and Eurocode 7 are delivery obligations, not references.

Live validation of G&

Every module is exercised on real works — including data management and AGS generation on a coastal mega-project.
